The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is getting a makeover. Deadline reports the fashion show will be revamped to include a documentary special that will focus on the The Victoria’s Secret World Tour, which showcases designs created by the VS20, a group of fashion designers hailing from Tokyo, Lagos, London and Bogóta.
The documentary will follow the creatives on their path to designing four unique collections for the brand, which will debut on the stage. The new special will be part feature-length documentary, part “spectacular fashion event.”
Victoria’s Secret will also launch its new collection on Amazon following the fashion show.
“This collaboration creates an unparalleled viewing experience, bringing the magic of [the film] directly to audiences far and wide,” Victoria’s Secret brand president, Greg Unis, said in a statement, per Yahoo. “Through this collaboration, we’re reinforcing our commitment to delivering captivating content that celebrates our heritage and resonates with our customers.”
The World Tour is part of the brand’s ongoing collaboration with Amazon. The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show previously aired on CBS and ABC, though it began to see a decline in ratings near its end.
In 2019, the Fashion Show was canceled as the company planned to focus on expanding its digital marketing in the face of falling ratings and sales. The brand was also beginning to get backlash for its lack of diversity and CEO Leslie Wexner’s connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
Now, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show appears to be coming back with The World Tour, with a promise “to uplift and champion women — on a global scale.”
“This film is the ultimate expression of the Victoria’s Secret brand transformation,” Victoria’s Secret’s head creative director Raúl Martinez said in a press release in May.
It’s unclear if viewers should expect musical guests or any of the original Victoria’s Secret Angels to make an appearance.
The Victoria’s Secret World Tour premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Sept. 26.
