Jasmine Goode is in the mix this season on The Valley! Being a Bachelor Nation alum and a former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader/Golden State Warriors dancer, Goode is no stranger to drama. Luckily, she has a partner, Melissa Marie, who grounds her. Just this past November in Europe, the women proposed to each other while on vacation—Marie popped the question in Lake Como and Goode in Majorca. “We ended up having a double engagement,” said Goode. “It was the sweetest romantic thing.”
So, when co-star Danny Booko had a little too much to drink and disrespected her and fiancee at a Halloween party, Goode knew it was going to come up on the show. “It was such an interesting situation because Jesse [Lally] initially brought it up,” said Goode. “I know it made some people uncomfortable, but it happened.” After a heartfelt conversation between Booko, Goode and Marie, all three parties finally felt heard. “It was really important to have that conversation with Danny,” explained Goode. “I wanted to him to know why I was so uncomfortable and triggered. I’ve cut off friends in the past because of how they’ve treated me and Melissa.” Thankfully, Goode is now in a good place with both Booko and his wife, Nia Booko.
Goode’s pal Jason Caperna brought up Booko’s drinking during a recent Santa Barbara trip in a conversation about the Halloween incident. To hurt Caperna and his wife, Janet Caperna, Booko’s friend Kristen Doute brought up a years-old rumor that Caperna doesn’t wear his wedding ring when he goes out. Somehow, Goode found herself in the middle of this new drama because she was there when the rumors allegedly started. “Kristen rides for her friends,” said Goode. “If you mess with someone she cares about, she’s gonna come for you.” However, Goode doesn’t believe the rumor about Caperna for a second. “I still don’t think Jason has done anything to hurt Janet,” said Goode firmly.
Goode stopped by the DECIDER studio to talk about the season so far, the upcoming reunion and whether she’s Team Janet or Team Kristen.
DECIDER: Jasmine, first of all, congratulations on your engagement! How did you pop the question?
JASMINE GOODE: We ended up having a double engagement. She proposed to me in Lake Como. It was so beautiful. It was funny because she was like, “let’s do a TikTok.” Melissa, like, never really wants to do TikTok with me. I knew something was about to happen, and then she proposed to me. It was the sweetest romantic thing. For her, I had this whole setup along the water in Majorca. Melissa didn’t know I hired a photographer who was watching nearby. Melissa was like, “why is that random lady just like staring at us?” I’m like, “I don’t know, just keep walking.” Thankfully, it ended up being really romantic [laughs].
Which of your The Valley co-stars did you tell first?
Kristen, Brittany, and Zack already knew it was happening. They were giving me pep talks throughout the day. Right away after it happened, I called Brittany and Zack, and I was like, “hey, I’m engaged!” That was really sweet.

Let’s talk about The Valley. An incident that happened between you, Melissa and Danny has been the subject of talk this season. Was it surreal to watch your drama take centerstage at times?
It was such an interesting situation because Jesse initially brought it up. When I found out, I’m like, “okay, we have to talk about this.” One thing I want to make sure about is that we’re going to be real and authentic. This is stuff that happened in our lives, so we’re not going to not talk about it. I know it made some people uncomfortable, but it happened.
After his second apology, it finally seemed like Danny understood why his disrespecting you, Melissa, and your relationship was such a big deal. Why was that conversation so important to have on-camera?
It was really important to have that conversation with Danny. There is this whole narrative that he’s apologized so many times, but that’s not true. He sent a text at first, and then followed up with that half-hearted moment at the white party. To me, you can’t start off an apology by saying, “why are you doing this to me?” That rubbed me the wrong way. It took me a while to process things. Since I’m so close with Danny, I wanted there to be a conversation among the three of us.
I wanted Danny to know why I was so uncomfortable and so triggered. This is stuff that happened to me before. I’ve cut off friends in the past because how they’ve treated me and Melissa. He had to understand that he had to respect my and Melissa’s relationship if he wants a friendship.
I think it showed how much you valued him because you chose to have this conversation instead of immediately cutting him out of your life.
100%. If I truly did not care about Nia and Danny, I would be like, “screw him, next.” However, I do think he’s a good guy. I just needed him to understand, and we did get through to him.
How is your friendship now?
We’re in a good place, and everything’s great. I love Danny and Nia. I’m so happy we had that conversation.
Jason really stood up to Danny about how he made you and Melissa feel. Was it nice to see that he had your back?
Yes. Out of everyone in the group, Jason understood where I was coming from. Jason and I have been friends for so many years, longer than anyone else on the show. He understood my frustration. Other people just didn’t get it at the time. I really appreciated him stepping up on my behalf. He has a sister who is gay, so he knew better than most where I was coming from.
While Jason wanted to call out Danny’s behavior towards you and Melissa, fans are speculating that he also brought up Danny’s drinking in Santa Barbara only because Janet wanted him to. Do you think she influenced his conversation?
It’s crazy everyone thinks that Janet told Jason, “You have to say this!” I don’t think Janet would do that. However, they do live together. I’m sure they had conversations about the Santa Barbara trip. Maybe his opinion might have changed after those talks with her.
I honestly don’t think Janet is calculating like that.
Janet talks a lot. Maybe that makes people feel that she was trying to make Jason feel a certain way about a situation. I don’t think she did, but then again, who knows.

Can you walk me through how this whole rumor started?
This rumor started a couple years ago when the group was a bit fractured. I think people were upset and people said things that they didn’t really mean, and it blew up from there. That’s what I took from that whole conversation when it happened. I didn’t believe it. There was never any cheating.
No, I don’t think so either.
But other people heard it too. It wasn’t just me. We all know Jason is Janet’s whipping boy [laughs]. But hey, their relationship is great. It works for them. I still don’t think Jason has done anything to hurt Janet.
Did you ever feel like you had to pick a side, Team Janet or Team Kristen, at any point in the season?
Not really. I just started seeing things that made me question certain people’s behaviors. Like, I didn’t really like how Janet was treating Kristen and Zack. That made me step back from her. It just felt like my eyes were opened.
Well, I know you are Team Brittany Cartwright. Do you think there is a world where Brittany and Jax Taylor can have a good co-parenting relationship?
I don’t know. Jax and Brittany are always going to have some kind of issue because of Jax and his behavior. Brittany is ready to move on and move forward with her life, but Jax is the one that just brings this negative energy to their dynamic. If he can change that, maybe there might be some future for them.
Everyone has seen The Valley reunion seating chart. How do you feel about the order overall? Did you feel good about being seated second from the end between Jason and Zack?
This is my first reunion. I was just happy to be there [laughs]. I didn’t care where I was sitting. I know everyone gets upset about the seating chart, but I thought it was great. I was next to my bestie.
I know you can’t say much, but do you feel better or worse for having gone through the reunion?
I blacked out because I was so nervous. I don’t remember much. It was kind of overwhelming for me. Though, I think that we got to everything that we wanted to talk about. We did good for a first time.
Did you address everything you needed to?
Yes, I did. I do wish we could go back to the reunion now just because people are starting to do podcasts. I’m like, “wait, you weren’t saying that, now you’re saying this…” I got everything out I wanted to say. I talked to the people I needed to talk to, and now we’re all good. For now.
Before I let you go I have to ask you one thing: what’s the deal with the Monster Energy mini-fridge on Zack’s kitchen counter?
[Laughs] Zack has had that fridge forever. He’s a Monster Energy boy. He just loves it.
Is it just Monster Energy drinks in there?
You know, I don’t think there are any Monster drinks in it. It’s just the fridge. I think he has his liquors and mixers in there. He just loves the fridge!
