NextImg:The two things Aaron Rodgers wants with next NFL team as Jets breakup looms

Aaron Rodgers knows what he’s looking for in a future team as he trains on the West Coast in the offseason for a potential 21st season.

Rodgers told TMZ Sports the first thing he is searching for is a team that wants him.

The Jets told him the exact opposite when they decided to part ways with him in an emotional face-to-face meeting earlier this month.

Rodgers also added that he wanted to be surrounded by talent wherever he ends up next.

He had some quality players around him with the Jets, but a variety of issues, including an inconsistent offensive line, clouded the Jets’ path to success in 2024.

When asked whether he’d play on the West Coast in the future, Rodgers said, “The sunshine is good,” after spending last fall in New Jersey.

Rodgers had been linked to two West Coast teams in the Los Angeles Rams, should they choose to move on from Matthew Stafford, and the Las Vegas Raiders.

Next team odds for Rodgers project it as a three-way tie between those franchises and the Steelers to land the future Hall of Fame quarterback.

The Rams could fit that bill as a team ready to win considering they had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL last season and have a star receiver in Puka Nacua — even if they’re trying to trade Cooper Kupp.

Should the Rams opt to bring the band back together and run Stafford back out there at quarterback, the Steelers would be another potential suitor with a chance to win.

Pittsburgh safety DeShon Elliott previously said in an Instagram comment that Rodgers should “Leave his ass at the retirement home.”

A new photo popped up of Rodgers and Elliott training together and they appeared to be cordial.

Steelers star receiver George Pickens called Rodgers his dream teammate in an August 2024 clip that has resurfaced.
