That much has become obvious as the shortstop has made a MLB-leading 15 errors, including two in Tuesday’s 7-5 win over the Rays at Yankee Stadium.
The question at Yankee Stadium has become what to do with the floundering Volpe. Keep him at shortstop? Bench him temporarily? Send him to the minors for a week?
Dr. Jonathan F. Katz, a sports psychologist who spent a year with the New York Rangers under former coach Tom Renney and has worked with several other pro and collegiate teams, told The Post he thinks Volpe’s struggles aren’t so different from a physical injury that would necessitate a rehab stint in the minors.
