It’s time to rebound.
Following an exciting 2022-23 season where they took down the New York Rangers in the first round of the NHL playoffs, the New Jersey Devils stumbled last season and missed the postseason after finishing just below .500.
Now, they’re looking to turn things around.
In late May, they signed new head coach Sheldon Keefe to a four-year contract. Soon after, the team acquired forwards Adam Beckman and Paul Cotter, defensemen Jonathan Kovacevic and Brett Pesce and guard Jacob Markstrom. Then, the Devils re-signed winger Tomas Tatar after losing him to free agency last season.
They’ll join the Garden State squad’s stars Nico Hischier and Jack and Luke Hughes in an effort to restore their playoff glory.
And, now that the 2024-25 schedule has been announced, we know the road they’ll take in order to get there.
Just a few of their biggest home games at Newark’s Prudential Center this season include their season opener against Keefe’s former team, the Maple Leafs (Oct. 10), Washington Capitals (Oct. 19), New York Islanders (Oct. 25), New York Rangers (Dec. 23) and Stanley Cup champion Florida Panthers (Jan. 14, 2025).
