The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 embraced romance in all forms, be it in how sweet Harfoot Poppy Proudfellow (Megan Richards) found love with a Storr newly-named Merimac (Gavi Singh Chera), or in showing how the Dark Lord himself, Sauron (Charlie Vickers), was still slightly sprung on his Season 1 crush, Galadriel (Morfydd Clark). However, the budding flirtation on the Prime Video show that could have the most powerful repercussions for the future of Middle-earth has been playing out in what’s left of the Southlands.
Brave young Númenorean soldier Isildur (Maxim Baldry) met the scrappy Southlander Estrid (Nia Towle) earlier in the season and soon felt attraction for the spirited survivor. While he eventually came to grips with the fact that poor Estrid had briefly promised herself to Mordor to survive certain death, Isildur has not managed to figure out what to do now that his lady love has been reunited with her assumed dead fiancé, Hagen (Gabriel Akuwudike).
So is Estrid meant to be Isildur’s future wife — and the ancestor of Tolkien hero Aragorn — or is she just a pretty face the legendary character meets on his journey? Well, an exclusive clip from The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2 finale suggests that all hope is not lost for those ‘shipping Isildur and Estrid…

Estrid struggles to explain herself until Isildur puts us all out of our misery and kisses her!!!
