Dame Prue Leith stunned the world this week when she played along with the latest goofy Great British Baking Show gag, going so far as to twerk in the tent to show off “what a visually stunning sculpted tart looks like.” It’s weirdly just the latest example of Dame Prue going above and beyond in her duties as Great British Baking Show judge. Paul Hollywood might be short on fun this season of the Netflix show, but Prue Leith is serving more than enough silliness for both of them…
**Spoilers for The Great British Baking Show “Pastry Week,” now streaming on Netflix**
The Great British Baking Show tackled pastries this week, asking the bakers first to make a plaited pastry with a savory filling, then a gala pie with piccalilli in the middle, and finally… “a visually stunning sculpted tart.”
The bakers were pretty clear on what a plaited pastry with savory filling was and how they could tweak it. Some of them were confounded by the piccalilli part of the Technical, but that was the point. However, Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding had a trick up their sleeve to help the bakers understand what they were being asked to produce in the Showstopper.
After explaining the brief, Noel told the seven remaining bakers, “Now, if any of you have forgotten what a visually stunning sculpted tart looks like, here’s Alison with a quick reminder.” The hilarious Ms. Hammond then did a cheeky catwalk in the tent, complete with cutesy pose.
When she returned to her position at the front of the tent, Noel admitted, “We were a bit worried that that joke appears to be a bit sexist, so we’re going to flip it now.” Then Alison repeated the same line Noel said, only Noel strutted down the aisle with the confidence of a fashion week diva.
Everyone was having fun and then Noel upped the ante. After his catwalk, he asked, “Who wants Prue? Prue’s a dame!”
Alison enthusiastically said, “I do!”
Dame Prue Leith delivered.

Alison gave Prue the now tried and true introduction — “If any of you have forgotten what a visually stunning sculpted tart looks like, here’s the Dame with a reminder” — and the Dame let loose.
Instead of simply giving the gig her best catwalk, Prue put both hands on her hips and began to pop said hips back and forth. She trotted forward, flipped the train of her long vest, and began twerking. Dame Prue Leith literally showed the bakers her bum. The crowd went wild.
After a very pleased Prue returned to the front of the tent, Noel quipped that Paul would do it next. Mr. Hollywood only shook his head and rolled his eyes in discontent.
This isn’t the first time this season that Prue has really committed to a bit. You might remember that the 2025 season’s cold open was a Jurassic Park-themed sketch wherein Prue allowed herself to be fully made over into Richard Attenborough’s John Hammond, beard and all. By contrast, Paul has been something of a lame-o. (He’s not even giving out that many Hollywood Handshakes!)
So god bless you, Dame Prue Leith, and your sense of humor. Having a judge who can let loose with the hosts and bakers is a delight. Having a Dame who can twerk? Even better.
