The Golden Bachelorette assembled 15 fan-favorite contestants for the first ever Golden “Men Tell All” event on Wednesday, and though we’ll have to wait another week to find out how Joan Vassos’ journey ends, we already watched a heartwarming love story unfold on screen.
We’re talking about The Golden Bachelorette bromance, of course!
Throughout the “Men Tell All” episode, everyone from franchise host Jesse Palmer to Joan herself noted how strong the love was amongst the men in the mansion. The guys weren’t shy about showing admiration for each other, either, and Jonathan Rone even shared a special story about an off-camera moment involving Kelsey Anderson’s dad Mark.
When Jonathan took the hot seat to reflect on his relationship with Joan and the friendships he formed on the journey, he said, “I just love all the support that all you guys have given me. I just love all the support that we have given all each other.” The contestant then revealed a never-before-seen gesture from Mark that was so sweet it moved members of Bachelor Nation to tears.
“I usually wake up at 5:00 a.m., and I would go downstairs and get my coffee, and crawl back up to the top bunk. And usually when I would wake up, Mark is always still sleeping,” Jonathan told the studio audience. “One particular moment I woke up, Mark was gone, and I found some Post-Its in my coffee cup, and they were from Mark.”
Jonathan pulled out the notes from his jacket, put his reading glasses on, and read Mark’s kind words. “This says, ‘Jonathan, just in case I don’t get to stay, I am humbled to have met you. I have enjoyed this time shared. Place this sticky note on your mirror and remind yourself that you are a fantastic human being,” he said.

In case that wasn’t cute enough, Jonathan shared the second note from his pal Mark, which said, “I am strong. I am interesting. I am handsome. I am deserving. I am enough.”
“I mean, I just started bawling. It meant so much to me,” the emotional Golden Guy explained.
When the camera turned to Mark for his response, he tearfully said, “You know, Jonathan, you are a fantastic human being. We see you and we love you. It just seemed like at the moment when I did that it was something you needed, and I hope that it helped you. It was from the heart.” BRB, sobbing!
“It certainly did, my man,” Jonathan replied. And with that, we were reminded that The Golden Bachelorette gave fans several superb choices for the next Golden Bachelor lead — Mark and Jonathan included.
The Golden Bachelorette finale airs Wednesday, November 13 at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
