The march to repeat begins now.
On Thursday, April 15, the NBA champion Boston Celtics announced their 2024-25 schedule, carving out the path for their second consecutive title.
And, they may have a bit of an advantage this go-round.
In addition to bringing back stars Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Finals MVP Jaylen Brown, Positive Residual claims the team has the fourth easiest strength of schedule when factoring in travel, rest and back to back game dates.
Still, they will have to face every single NBA team twice including the Western Conference Champion Mavericks as well as Eastern Conference stalwarts like the Pacers, Knicks, Bucks, Heat and 76ers.
Notable nights that fans likely won’t want to miss at TD Garden this season include 1) the home opener against the Knicks on Tuesday, Oct. 22 when the franchise unveils its 18th championship banner, 2) a Nov. 6 head-to-head with the Warriors and Steve Kerr who sat Tatum quite a bit during the Olympics and 3) a Christmas matchup with the 76ers.
Finally, the historic Lakers-Celtics rivalry returns to Boston on March 8, 2025.
