Imagine how smart you could have sounded on the barstool or at your fantasy football draft if you knew at this time last year that Sam Darnold was about to become one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks.

Or that Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs were about to lead a running back renaissance with their new teams.

Or if you had predicted a couple of years ago that Vic Fangio’s two high-safety defense was going to be widely copied.

It sure would be nice to know what the NFL universe will be talking about by midseason before the games even start.
