It’s the first month of October, which means it’s the perfect weekend to binge a bunch of horror movies on streaming. And while you’re at, why not spice things up with some horror movies that also happen to feature streamy sex scenes? After, horror and sex go together like peas and carrots.

Look, we get it, and we don’t judge. We all need to blow off some steam at the end of a long, hard week. Back in the day, you had to lurk in the “adult content” section of a video store, but thanks to the advent of streaming services, you can now do your lurking in the privacy of your own home. And if you want to get a little spooky with it in the spirit of the season, then you’ve come to the right place.

   Ryan Coogler did not shy away from sex in Sinners, and we’re grateful. There’s no doubt that Hailee Steinfeld is very beautiful, but the hottest sex scene in Sinners—and, indeed, perhaps the hottest sex scene of the year so far—is the raw, tender moment of passion between Smoke (Michael B. Jordan) and his estranged wife Annie (Wunmi Mosaku). First, Annie hits Smoke with some very sensual ear nibbles. The face that Jordan makes when she does is, well, let’s just call it memorable. Then he flips her around and takes her from behind. Despite the lack of nudity, it’s incredibly hot.

   The award for funniest sex scene in a recent horror movie has to go to Heart Eyes. This 2025 horror comedy—directed by Josh Ruben (known for his other horror comedy Werewolves Within)—is not quite the new Scream, but it certainly has some funny moments. Like, for example, the moment when protagonists Ally (Olivia Holt) and Jay (Mason Gooding) dive into the nearest van to hide from the notorious Valentine’s Day killer, Heart Eyes. Unfortunately, the van is already occupied by hippies having very loud, enthusiastic sex. It’s so loud, in fact, that the sex moans end up attracting the killer to their hiding spot. Oops!

   Ti West’s buzzy 2022 slasher flick includes many gruesome death scenes, but first warms of up the audience with several steamy sex scenes, featuring Brittany Snow, Mia Goth, and Jenna Ortega. After all, the plot features a crew of porn stars filming a dirty movie at a rural farmhouse in Texas in 1979. Sex, desire, beauty, and shame mingle together, and will definitely leave you feeling horny and scared.

   After you watch X, go ahead and follow it up with the stand-out sex scene from Pearl, the 2022 prequel film to X. Taking place in 1918, during the Spanish Flu pandemic and World War I, Pearl (also played by Goth) is stuck on an isolated farm with her husband away at war. After her repressed sex drive is awakened by a charming movie projectionist (David Corenswet), she takes out her sexual frustrations on a scarecrow, by dry-humping that straw-man to completion. Talk abut a roll in the hay!

   Robert Eggers 2024 remake of Nosferatu culminates in a unhinged, disgusting, and very bloody sex/death scene between Lily-Rose Depp and a highly prosthetic-ified Bill Skarsgård. The movie makes you wait through two hours of slow-moving gothic horror to get there, but boy, does that ending make it worth the wait. Orlok finally slurps up Lily-Rose Depp’s blood, and Depp and Skarsgard perform it like a sex scene, with labored breaths, sensual moans, and—in Skarsgard’s case—pelvic thrusts. Penetration or not, it’s a sex scene. Sparkly Edward Cullen had his turn. Now, finally, vampires are gross and horny again.

   Hopefully American Psycho doesn’t make you too horny, given all the sick, twisted serial killing and whatnot. But Mary Harron’s darkly comedic 2000 slasher does feature Christian Bale getting it on with two sex workers in what is perhaps the most absurd, hilarious sex scene in cinema history. Patrick Bateman flexes for himself in the mirror while he thrusts in time to Phil Collins. Of course, after he’s done, he tortures and murders the women. What can you do?

   If you’re looking for a little threesome action in your horror-thriller movies this spooky season, look no further than the 2015 thriller Knock Knock. Not only are these threesome scenes incredibly hot, but they also feature two of Hollywood’s hottest actors, Keanu Reeves and Ana dd Armas, joined by the equally gorgeous Lorenza Izzo. The knives are out and the John Wicks are lit, y’all. This film has something for everyone, including a very steamy threesome sex scene.

   The sex scenes in the Shirley Jackson biopic Shirley—and there are several—are particularly excellent because they were filmed by a woman (director Josephine Decker) and written by a woman (writer Sarah Gubbins). They revolve entirely around female desire, namely that of Odessa Young’s character, who has a complicated relationship with the famed horror writer. The scenes are hot without being exploitative—in one memorable moment, nothing more than a game of footsie transpires.

    The Voyeurs, from writer/director Michael Mohan, is an unapologetically old-school erotic thriller. And by “old-school” we mean “extremely horny.” There are plenty of sex scenes to choose from in this thriller, which stars Sydney Sweeney and Justice Smith as a young couple who become obsessed with their neighbors’ enthusiastic sex lives. But perhaps the steamiest features Sweeney and actor Ben Hardy in several explicit positions. Rated R for a reason!
