In an era when travel is less about seeing the world and more about showing the world where you went, documenting every aspect of your adventure — including your hotel stay — has become an essential part of the trip checklist.
Over time, a handful of accommodations across the US — from small, historic gems to lavish, sunsplashed resorts — have emerged as the most beloved by Instagrammers, snagging record numbers of hashtags and mentions.
In celebration of World Tourism Day (Sept. 27), the numbers people at CanadaCasino.ca crunched stats on scores of luxe properties across the fifty states to come up with the elite addresses with the most Instagram and TikTok tags.
And while Dubai’s Jumeirah Burj Al Arab hotel was crowned the world’s most socialed stay, much closer to home, Americans have their own selection of stunners to share widely with their pals and followers.
And share, they do — The Bellagio, one of the best resorts in Las Vegas, had 192,486 hashtags on Instagram, along with 19,900 on TikTok.
That was enough to snag the O.G. luxury property on the Strip the No. 1 spot on a very attractive list, which included NYC’s own Plaza Hotel, which has struggled to maintain its niche in the local luxury market in recent years — but apparently has no trouble attracting the attention of visiting shutterbugs.
The historic hostelry boasted 122,462 Instagram hashtags, and 3,094 on TikTok.
Utah’s Amangiri resort — an exclusive and remote Amanresorts property — slid easily into the No. 3 spot.
The desert retreat, not far from Zion National Park, has hosted countless A-listers looking to unwind out of the public eye.
Miley Cyrus, Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian have all stayed at Amangiri, one of the most expensive hotels in the country, with starting nightly rates of roughly $4,500 currently.
Other gems included the Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, Calif. (No. 6), said to be a fave of megastar Taylor Swift and the classic Rancho Valencia resort near San Diego (No. 7).
