Residents of one Texas town had a baaad wake-up call this week — when a herd of 60 goats got out of their enclosure and commandeered a roadway.
The pack of goats somehow escaped their enclosure at the Crystal Canyon Natural Area in Arlington around 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. Officials believe a runner may have let them free.
Police were called to help corral the animals back to the park, wild video shared by the Arlington Police Department shows.
“Oh, this is a mess! Go back to where you came from, please,” an officer can be heard saying on a body camera recording. “Who knew we were goat wranglers now?”
“C’mon goats … Keep on movin’,” he says, laughing as he claps to nudge the herd along.
The beasts were rounded up and the herd was found unharmed, according to reports.
A few hundred of them were brought in just last week as part of an effort to clear underbrush and invasive plants in the area, reducing fire danger and maintaining safety, according to CBS News.
Residents are urged to leave the goats alone so they can “work undisturbed,” the outlet reported.
