The state of Texas has spent more than $124 million to bus migrants to New York City and other blue states.
The Lone Star State has dropped at least $124,603,616.19 on the busing program since April 2022, according to records obtained by media company Nextstar from the Texas Division of Emergency Management, which is overseeing the program.
The resulting 100,000 migrants who have flooded out of Texas have made their way to the Big Apple, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver, and Los Angeles — stretching budgets and wreaking havoc in their wake.
Texas taxpayers are on the hook for more than 99% of the costs, records show.
Approximately $460,000 has been raised by the state in the form of voluntary donations by enthusiastic local fans of the program, according to the office of Texas Gov. Greg Abbott.
