It’s the NFL divisional round, one of the great sports weekends of the year, starting with Ravens-Texans.
And we would be remiss not to talk about player props ahead of the weekend’s opening game.
Baltimore comes in as a sizeable 9.5-point favorite despite public bettors backing CJ Stroud’s group.
Below, we target some player props for Texans-Ravens.
Last week was an uneven week compared to the rest of the season, where we’ve had plenty of success.
We went 9-16 on 25 bets in the wild-card round, losing 2.91 units, bringing us down to 41.03 units of profit on the year and a 69-84 record.
Our return on investment is 26.82% over the course of the year.
FTN’s Aaron Schatz notes that the Texans missed the second-most in the NFL this season. They also have the seventh-worst tackling grade, according to Pro Football Focus.
This should be a Lamar Jackson showcase spot in the rushing game, so let’s smash Jackson in a big way Saturday.
He has cleared this attempts total in three of his last five games, and in a heavy run formation Jackson should get plenty of opportunities this weekend.
However, beware of betting on touchdowns. Jackson hasn’t been running near the goal line, tallying only one rushing touchdown since Oct. 8.
Adding Zay Flowers’ receptions prop because +112 is much too high of a number for a receiver of Flowers’ caliber.
Saturday’s game could be a shootout, and with the Ravens slowly working Mark Andrews back into the offense look for Flowers to be the beneficiary of targets for Baltimore.
Flowers has gone over this reception total in nine of his 16 games this season, and cleared his receiving total in 11 of those 16.
This could be the highest-scoring game of the week, so back the Ravens’ rookie star.
