A Tennessee mom turned her two sons over to police to teach them a lesson after she spotted them on a wanted poster for allegedly shooting at a police officer.

“I’m like ‘Are you serious? Aww hell no,” the unidentified mother told WMC, recalling the moment she saw the faces of her teenage sons in a wanted poster from Holly Springs police.

“I don’t play no games with them. If you want to do the crime you gotta do the time. Plain and simple,” she said, explaining that despite her tough-love stance the situation was very emotional for her.

Her boys, 17 and 18, are accused of firing two bullets at a pursuing police officer after they allegedly fled from him during a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

The suspects reportedly fled into the woods on foot after firing the shots, and their faces were later captured on a nearby residence’s door camera.

“It was dangerous for the officers and any other pedestrian and anyone that was on that interstate at that time. That was a very dangerous situation,” Holly Springs police chief Darrly Bowens told WMC.

A day after the incident, the teens’ mother turned them in.

Her boys insisted they were innocent, and she hopes their names will be cleared after an investigation.

“My child does not get in trouble. He don’t bother nobody. They don’t do nothing. All they do is play games. Stay home and play games. This is very new. This is very shocking,” she said.

The boys were charged with aggravated assault of a police officer.

Their names have not been released.

Police have interviewed a third person of interest in the case, but have not charged them, WMC reported.
