It was a letdown, for sure. The Liberty had so much talent on paper, but never got healthy enough to really put the pieces together.

It’s unclear what 2026 might bring. Sandy Brondello won’t be back, but Breanna Stewart, Sabrina Ionescu and Jonquel Jones are all expected to return.

Who might join them — with a new collective bargaining agreement, an expansion process for two new teams and a massive edition of free agency all likely in store — remains a mystery.
