The New Mexico teen who allegedly dumped her newborn in a hospital trash bin was a “master manipulator” who knew she was pregnant and even named the baby boy before killing him, her classmates alleged.
Alexee Trevizo, 19, repeatedly denied her pregnancy, blaming her weight gain on birth control pills, but reportedly revealed the truth to some of her high school classmates, the teen’s former friends told Daily Mail.
She even planned to name the child Alex, the friends claimed.
“She knew she was pregnant and hid it from almost everyone,” one former classmate said, according to the outlet. “She told me she had just gained weight because she was ‘on the pill.'”
Trevizo, 19, from Artesia, New Mexico, was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence in May after secretly delivering the baby boy in the bathroom at Artesia General Hospital.
She initially aroused suspicion after she was admitted to the hospital with back pain on Jan. 27, then locked herself in the hospital bathroom for approximately 19 minutes.
Doctors and nurses eventually opened the door to a grisly scene — a blood-soaked Trevizo had “done something to herself” to try to terminate the pregnancy, but one of the nurses found a dead, full-term baby in the trash bin.
The red flags were there, her friends said, as Trevizo gained weight beginning in November.
“We didn’t want to get into her business, the last thing you want to ask someone who looks like they’ve gained weight is if they were pregnant,” one friend said.
When the weight gain became too noticeable to be ignored, Trevizo told her friends she had to go on a diet, but still did not cop to being pregnant, her friends said.
She even told nursing staff after she was admitted to the hospital that she was not pregnant, had regular periods, and was not sexually active, although lab tests later confirmed she was pregnant.
When she was discovered covered in blood in the bathroom, hospital staff initially thought she had trying to harm herself until a hospital housekeeper found the baby tied in a separate bag at the bottom of the trash can.
“When news broke of a dead newborn several people at Artesia High School said it was Alexee’s baby,” one of the teen’s friends said.
“A few weeks later Alexee and her boyfriend Devyn [Fierro] returned to school, there were whispers about what had happened, but no one knew anything for certain,” the friend continued.
“Alexee and Devyn came back to school and acted like nothing was wrong,” the former classmate added. “They didn’t even tell anyone why they had been away, nor did anyone ask.”
Trevizo was even pictured at smiling at her prom months after allegedly killing her child.
The photographer who snapped the photo said “you would never have known” about the incident at the hospital.
Trevizo’s trial is set for Oct. 2.
“Alexee is a narcissist,” one of her friends said. “She named the babay boy, the one she is accused of killing, Alex Fierro.”
“She deserves some serious prison time if convicted for what she did, she needs to pay for her crime,” the friend continued. “More importantly, she is going to have to answer to God for what she did to her son.”
