Texas Christian University has a big addition to its roster this season.

Freshman offensive lineman Brione Ramsey-Brooks, who is listed at 6-foot-5 and 455 pounds, has gone viral this week for his unprecedented size.

Nicknamed “Big Bubba,” Ramsey-Brooks has quickly caught the attention of college football fans and some are dubbing him their new “favorite athlete.”

“I have recently discovered my new favorite athlete. His name is Brione ‘Big Bubba’ Ramsey-Brooks,” one Twitter user wrote.

“He’s a 6’5, 455 (!!) lb freshman OL for TCU. And he eats defenders for quite literally every meal.”

The South Oak Cliff high school product played offensive guard for the team en route to winning two consecutive championships in his junior and senior seasons.

Ramsey-Brooks, named the 108th-best interior lineman in the nation according to 247 Sports, was also a three-star recruit coming out of his time with South Oak Cliff.

The Dallas native was named First Team All-State as a sophomore and ranked as the No. 235 overall prospect in Texas.

“I think TCU true freshman OL Brione Ramsey-Brooks is going to be a fan favorite. You can’t teach size,” Stephen Simcox, the host of a TCU athletics podcast, tweeted

Ramsey-Brooks reportedly put on more than 75 pounds since last year’s Rivals Camp Series.

Florida Gators defensive tackle Desmond Watson is another big man in college football, listed at 6-foot-5 and 415 pounds, but still falls short of Ramsey-Brooks’ stats.

Before committing to play for the Horned Frogs, Ramsey reportedly had offers and interest from Oregon, Kansas, Arizona, Houston and Louisville.

Ramsey-Brooks is not expected to start for TCU, but he’ll no doubt be a player fans are looking out for from the start.

The Horned Frogs open the 2023 season on Sept. 2 against Colorado after losing 65-7 in the CFP National Championship last year against Georgia.
