Taylor Swift is grateful boyfriend Travis Kelce put it out into the universe two years ago.
During her widely anticipated appearance on his “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday, the pop superstar cheekily expressed gratitude for the program, as it “got her a boyfriend” after the star Chiefs tight end vocalized his disappointment in not getting to meet her at an Eras Tour show in 2023.
“Travis decided to use it as his personal dating app two years ago,” Swift said in her podcast debut.
For those needing a brief refresher, Kelce lamented on “New Heights” in July 2023 that he was unable to pass along a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it at an Eras Tour stop in Kansas City.
“I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings, so I was a little butthurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce said at the time.
“She doesn’t meet anybody — or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personal, but it was an unbelievable show,” he added as older brother Jason Kelce laughed.
Swift added more context to the scene in Kansas City two years ago, noting, “He came with Pat [Patrick Mahomes], and because he thought he knew the elevator lady, he could come down and talk to me.”
“Glad it worked,” the 14-time Grammy winner said, to which Kelce called himself “the luckiest man in the world,” as he kissed her on the hand.
Swift made her first appearance at a Chiefs game in September 2023, with the couple stepping out officially a month later.
