What is black, white and sexy all over?
Well, that would be Taylor Swift on the cover of her upcoming album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” which i set to be released on April 19.
The singer-songwriter announced the project at the 2024 Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 4 after accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album for “Midnights.”
The “Bad Blood” singer unveiled the cover art on her official website just hours before. The album photo featured the singer lying on a bed surrounded by pillows in luxe lingerie from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s line The Row.
The Row was established by the twin sisters and fashion icons in 2006.
The brand focuses “on exceptional fabrics, impeccable details, and precise tailoring,” according to the line’s website. “The house combines a timeless perspective with subtle attitudes which form an irreverent classic signature. The Row’s collections also explore the strength of simplistic shapes that speak to discretion and are based on uncompromising quality.”
According to Sarah Chapelle’s Instagram fan page @taylorswiftstyled, Swift’s The Row “Austra” style bottoms are featured in the photo and retail for $790, while the sheer black tank is from YSL.
Captured by photographer Beth Garrabrant, the shoot was styled by Joseph Cassell, whose celebrity clients have included Kerry Washington, Lydia Hearst, Olivia Holt and Maren Morris.
In addition to the cover art, on Instagram Swift posted an image of a handwritten page that appeared to be that of lyrics from the album that read, “And so I enter into evidence / My tarnished coat of arms / My muses, acquired like bruises / My talismans and charms / The tick, tick, tick of love bombs / My veins of pitch black ink.”
“OK, this is my 13th GRAMMY, which is my lucky number. I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that,” Swift joked while accepting the Pop Vocal Album award. “I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans.”
“To say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I have been keeping from you for the last two years,” she said annoucning the album’s drop date while wearing colors that coincided with her newly unveiled album: black gloves and a white custom Schiaparelli gown with Giuseppe Zanotti shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Around her neck was a choker adorned with a clock striking midnight
“The Tortured Poets Department” will be Swift’s 11th studio album, following 2022’s “Midnights.”
