A Taylor Swift lookalike stole the spotlight during Sporting Kansas City’s 2-0 victory over St. Louis on Saturday.
MLS fans were convinced the superstar singer, who’s dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was enjoying the game in a suite with friends at Children’s Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kan. as seen in videos on social media.
However, Swift wasn’t at the game on Saturday. The woman in question was Kelley Thrasher, who’s dubbed herself “Kansas City’s official Taylor Swift Doppelganger.”
Thrasher runs a party entertainment service called, “Kelley’s Version,” a nod to Swift’s rerecorded album, “Taylor’s Version,” where she impersonates Swift at local Kansas City events.
In a video post on Instagram, one of her friends who attended the game with her recalled the “chaos” of the night. and “whispers” from fans who mistook the blonde for Swift.
“Still laughing at the chaos last night brought. We were just there to celebrate our girl @amberleigh.masters birthday… but bring Taylor Swift’s lookalike to an SKC game and suddenly you need security escorts and end up in the stadium’s secret speakeasy with the players after the game,” the caption read, including a crying-laughing emoji.
“@sportingkc won—so she’s clearly the good luck charm. And no, it wasn’t actually Taylor (but the crowd & my DMs definitely thought so) ????
“My kids think I’m the coolest mom ever because I’m ‘friends with Taylor Swift’ — and honestly, I’m not correcting them.”
The video showed young girls and boys looking up at Thrasher and her friends in the suite and screaming and waving in her direction.
The group was also captured on the jumbotron.
Taking to her Instagram Story, Thrasher showed comments on social media about the fan reactions at the game.
On Sunday, Thrasher enjoyed suite seats for the Bloomington Bison’s 4-3 victory over the Kalamazoo Wings at Grossinger Motors Arena.
“2 suites in 24 hours,” she wrote in a separate Instagram post. “VIP Love Story-but make it sports. Hockey? Soccer? It’s me, hi, I’m the fan, it’s me.”

In January, she took in a Chiefs game from a suite at Arrowhead Stadium with “Almost Andy Reid,” a social media personality who calls himself Kansas City’s official Andy Reid doppelganger.
