“Don’t do it, it’s like a curse, you’ll probably break up the next week if you do it,” an artist from Markd Tattoo in Australia said on TikTok. “I wouldn’t recommend it.

Lovers getting their name tatted on each other may seem like a charming and sweet way to show appreciation — but it’s a huge rule-breaker the tattoo artists warn against.

Three other artists at the shop also shared the same thought, bashing the idea that often ends in regret and an even more expensive coverup.

One of the shop’s artists gave an exception to getting your someone’s name tattooed on your body.

“I got my partners initial tattooed to surprise him. We broke up that night HAHAHAHA, straight up a curse I stg [swear to God], a user commented.

“Best friend was engaged, got her fiancé’s name on her body, he broke off the engagement a few months later and said he never wanted to get married,” another commenter shared.

However, some make it work.

The Australian tattoo shop is located in Refern, right outside the major city Sydney.

The shop generated a massive following on social media, where they have over 101K followers on TikTok.

One Aussie woman went viral on TikTok when she opted for matching tattoos with a guy she had recently met on Tinder.
