Emma Meesseman’s tremendous leap of faith <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/07/21/sports/liberty-signing-emma-meesseman-in-wnba-free-agency-coup/">to join the Liberty midseason</a> is unlike anything we’ve seen in the WNBA.

Not even Sandy Brondello, who’s been around the league since 1998, could think of a similar midseason acquisition of Meesseman’s stature. 

Some have compared it to when Hall of Famer Sylvia Fowles forced a trade out of Chicago midseason in 2015 and helped the Lynx win a title that season.
