CBS has made the decision to cancel its hit show S.W.A.T. after six years. The network announced on Friday that the show’s current season will be its last, with the final episode —written by Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier—airing on May 19.

“For six seasons, the amazing talents of the S.W.A.T. cast led by Shemar Moore, the writers, producers and crew guided by executive producers Shawn Ryan, Andy Dettman and Aaron Rahsaan Thomas brought us compelling, action packed episodes that also addressed important social issues and contributed to the success of our primetime line up,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.

“We sincerely thank them for their incredible work and passion and also thank our dedicated fans who tuned in every week.”

According to Deadline, the series is being canceled because CBS and Sony TV studios could not come to a financial agreement.

Starring Shemar Moore, the series is set in Los Angeles and centers on a former Marine turned S.W.A.T. Sergeant Daniel “Hondo” Harrelson. Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Kenny Johnson, David Lim, Patrick St. Esprit and Rochelle Aytes also star in the show inspired by the 1975 TV series and feature film of the same name.

The two-part series finale will air on May 12 and 19. The storyline details that the team will work with the DEA and agent Mack Boyle (guest star Timothy Hutton) to prevent a cartel boss from starting an all-out war on the streets of Los Angeles as he attempts to serve justice to those who killed his son.

The very last episode is directed by Billy Gierhart.
