A pair of thieves posing as FedEx workers robbed an elderly SoHo electronics store employee at gunpoint – and one of them took a tumble inside the shop during the crime, new video released by the NYPD shows.
The duo showed up at the store at Canal and Mercer streets around 7:30 a.m. Friday – with at least one of them wearing a FedEx shirt – and claimed they had a package, authorities said.
Once inside, one of them held a gun as he pushed a 72-year-old male employee further back in the store, the clip shows.
His accomplice followed, but tripped and fell over a bag on the floor before quickly getting back on his feet, according to the video released Sunday night.
The gunman held onto the victim’s jacket and struck him with the weapon before the other suspect ripped off $1,500 from his wallet, according to cops and the footage.
The pair also tried to open a safe inside the store, but failed.
They fled and had not been caught by Monday morning.
The worker was treated by EMS workers at the scene.
