Just two months after Season 47 ended, Survivor is back for Season 48!
Host Jeff Probst will welcome 18 new castaways to the Mamanuca Islands for a chance to win the title of sole survivor and a $1 million prize. The show will keep the same format it has used since Season 40, with 18 contestants new to the world of Survivor split into three tribes of six players.
While this season looks to be the Survivor fans know and love, this week, Probst revealed some new details about the upcoming 50th season, which will air in about one year. “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans” will feature an all-star cast and let the show’s loyal fanbase vote on key game elements.
But before Seasons 49 and 50 can get underway, a 48th sole survivor will be crowned.
Survivor Season 48 premieres tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS. New episodes will air weekly on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. ET all season.
If you don’t have cable, you’ll need a live TV streaming service to watch Survivor live. DIRECTV Stream, which offers a five-day free trial for new subscribers, is one of our favorites. When the trial is over, you’ll pay $86.99/month and gain access to over 90 live channels including CBS.
fuboTV also offers a free trial for new users. It runs for seven days, and then you’ll be able to save $25 on your first month ($59.99, $84.99/month after).
Yes, but when you’ll be able to watch new episodes depends on the Paramount+ subscription you have.
If you’re a Paramount+ with Showtime ($12.99/month) subscriber, you’ll be able to watch episodes live as they air thanks to the local CBS live stream.
Paramount+ Essential ($7.99/month) subscribers will have to wait until Thursday mornings to watch new episodes of Survivor.
Both Paramount+ plans come with a seven-day free trial.
CBS has not confirmed how many episodes Season 48 of Survivor will have, but most recent seasons have had 13 episodes. If this season follows suit and doesn’t have any off-weeks, here’s when you can expect new episodes to be released.
Like last season, Survivor episodes will be 90 minutes long (with the exception of tonight’s premiere, which will be two hours long).
This season will begin with 18 castaways separated into three tribes.
Civa Tribe
Lagi Tribe
Vula Tribe
Season 48 of Survivor was filmed on the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji. The archipelago has served as the filming location for every Survivor season since 2016’s Season 33.
