Superchef Grudge Match host Darnell Ferguson has been arrested and charged in connection to a domestic violence case in Kentucky.
Deadline reports that the Food Network star was arrested Tuesday (Jan. 9) on a warrant related to the case. St. Matthews police said Ferguson was charged with strangulation, burglary, assault, menacing, terroristic threatening and theft of a stolen debit or credit card.
According to the arrest warrant, which was obtained by TMZ, Ferguson’s estranged wife claimed on a 911 call that he had broken into her home and attacked her.
In her account of the evening, she claimed he allegedly choked her and threatened to kill her. She also said she lost consciousness during the altercation, during which he is accused of stealing her ID and debit and credit cards before leaving the home.
The outlet reports law enforcement “observed visible injuries on her,” which warrant the charges Ferguson is now facing.
Ferguson’s reps did not return Decider’s request for comment by time of publication.

According to local news outlet WDRB, Ferguson shares three children with his estranged wife. His attorney claimed the alleged victim wanted the charges to be dismissed because she “thinks they can work everything out.”
But video of the hearing shows Assistant Jefferson County Attorney Cristin Southard expressing that they “have concerns that there are allegations he said he was going to kill her.”
Southard also addressed the victim’s alleged claim that they could “work everything out.”
“They may think they want to reconcile but … these are very serious allegations, and we have concerns,” Southard said, per WDRB. “Recantation, minimizing, those are all parts of the cycle of domestic violence.”
Ferguson is a celebrity chef and television personality best known for hosting Superchef Grudge Match, which premiered last year on Food Network.
He also competed in multiple seasons of Guy Fieri‘s Tournament of Champions and made appearances on Chopped, Guy’s Grocery Games, and The Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge.
