It seems the Atlanta Falcons had a plan all along at quarterback, adding Kirk Cousins to the fold on a four-year, $180 million contract to further bolster a fantastic stash of weapons.
It’s all rosy in Atlanta, with the positivity flowing from fans as well as sportsbooks, who have moved the Falcons to 30/1 to win Super Bowl 2025 after opening at 50/1 prior.
Atlanta now has the 12th-best odds to win the Lombardi Trophy.
The Falcons are also 14/1 to win the NFC Championship on BetMGM Sportsbook, the sixth-best odds.
Cousins brings an entirely new level of quarterback play to the Falcons, ranking seventh among quarterbacks last year, according to Pro Football Focus grades. This is a massive increase, considering Desmond Ridder was the worst quarterback in the NFL, being ranked No. 41.
This is also good news for wide receiver Drake London, the uber-talented USC receiver who moved from 150/1 to 100/1 to win Offensive Player of the Year.
London was widely considered one of the best receivers in the 2022 NFL Draft but has had a tumultuous first two years in the league.
Many bettors are now clamoring for the Cousins-London hook-up, as we all know that the ex-Vikings quarterback pulled together massive seasons while throwing to Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson.
If London truly does pop, it could be a huge showing in the NFC South for the Falcons.
Atlanta was +125 to win the NFC South prior to Cousins’ signing and they have since moved to -110 on FanDuel Sportsbook.
Perhaps Cousins can finally unlock tight end Kyle Pitts and also provide a boost for talented running back Bijan Robinson.

The Falcons’ defense is good enough to compete in the league, having ranked No. 12 in the NFL with the second-best run defense.
Defenders Grady Jarrett and Jessie Bates III are among the unit’s best players.
And with a new quarterback at the helm with a solid offensive line, it can only get better from here.
