Sunny Hostin gave Meghan McCain the Southern “F– You” for her scathing column about The View. The television host insisted that she feels comfortable on the ABC program, which she has hosted since 2016.
Hostin told her former co-host, “God bless.”
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, an audience member asked Hostin for her thoughts on McCain’s recent column. “Let me take a drink,” she said before diving in.
Earlier this week, McCain published an article in The Daily Mail, where is is a columnist, stating that “nothing on God’s green earth” could make her return to The View, which she left in 2021.
The column – which read like something out of Regina George’s burn book – received comments from Andy Cohen and Hostin, the latter of which admitted she hasn’t read it.
“I have heard about it,” Hostin told Cohen, before adding, “Our show is a wonderful place.”
Cohen added, “And ratings are great,” to which Hostin replied, “They’ve always been great. And we’re really good now. We’re the No. 1 talk show in the country.”
The View co-host also called out McCaine’s husband, Ben Domenech, for “mean-tweeting” about her, but added that she has “always been friendly” with the former host, stating that they “remain friends.”
Hostin said, “I don’t think she’s doing television anymore” and told Cohen, “I think you should hire her for one of the Housewives franchise. She’s be great.”
He responded, “She would be.”
Hostin concluded, “I wish her well. We’re really happy on the show. We’re really a cohesive group and God bless.”
McCain made hefty claims against the talk show in her column, accusing them of steering clear of controversial topics to protect figureheads of the show.
“The only way to survive on that show is to be vanilla pudding. Say nothing controversial with the elites, bow down, and don’t actually do the job you were hired to do, which is voice your authentic opinions,” she wrote.
When McCain exited The View, she was replaced with former White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin and political commentator Ana Navarro.
