Sunny Hostin was not alright, alright, alright on Tuesday morning’s (Sept. 12) episode of The View — despite a guest appearance by Matthew McConaughey. According to the co-host, she “hated everything” about the slate of Hot Topics that was covered that day.

Hostin made the candid revelation while speaking on a new episode of the show’s Behind the Table podcast with executive producer Brian Teta, who pointed out that the co-hosts had a “rough Hot Topics meeting” before the live taping.

“It was awful,” Hostin confirmed. “None of us agreed on what the lead should be, and ultimately we usually do agree on a lead, and we agree on the pop culture that we may discuss, but I think everyone sort of left unhappy with where we came down, which doesn’t always happen.”

Teta noted that there is usually a “clear blinking light” as to what they should discuss, “especially during the four years of [Donald Trump‘s presidency].” However, he said “no one felt super strongly” about the topics during Tuesday’s meeting.

“I hated everything,” Hostin chimed in. “I know Barbara Walters and Joy [Behar] always say ‘debatable or relatable,’ I didn’t see that in anything. Some of the things, as you know, Brian, I have to self-edit sometimes because I’m thinking something and I shouldn’t say it, and my husband has been very helpful curbing my desire to blurt. I’m a blurter.”

Hostin added that the discussions she was interested in “would’ve involved blurting.” Still, Teta attempted to see the bright side as he felt they “landed in a decent place” with a “spirited conversation” between the panelists.

“No, no, I didn’t like it,” Hostin doubled down. “It was chaotic today. And Joy’s a blurter too. We have that in common. Joy and I, I feel like, are the most alike on the panel, actually. We agree on most things, believe it or not.”

In case you missed the episode, the ladies ultimately opened the segment with a chat about Republican hopeful Tim Scott‘s mystery girlfriend. But Behar soon became the talk of the show as she shaded the Kardashian family’s intelligence by claiming that “all they care about is plastic surgery and their big behinds.” The comedian also flung her bare foot up on the table for McConaughey to massage.

The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
