The View resoundingly roasted Elon Musk on this morning’s episode after his temper flared at The New York Times‘ DealBook summit yesterday (Nov. 29), where he dropped an F-bomb while discussing X’s advertising boycott.
Musk, who purchased X (formerly known as Twitter) in 2022 and has since made some sweeping changes to the site, apologized for an antisemitic post he made earlier this month, before cursing out advertisers who have left X.
“I don’t want them to advertise,” he said, per CNN. “If someone is going to blackmail me with advertising or money go f**k yourself. Go. F**k. Yourself,”
Sunny Hostin couldn’t hide her disdain for Musk on The View, ripping the billionaire for his management of X.
“Twitter was a hellscape before Elon Musk, then he changed the name to X, which was stupid,” she said, adding, “Nobody calls it X!”
Hostin also pointed out that Musk changed X’s verification system, explaining that people who get their news through the platform now could be misled because “you can pay to get verified now.”
“You see the little blue check mark and you’re thinking, ‘Oh, well this is someone with gravitas, this is someone with education, this is someone with knowledge,” she said. “And it could be someone sitting in their mama’s basement just being a Twitter, X thug!”
Her comments prompted Joy Behar to wonder why she still has a blue check when she’s not giving a single cent to the platform.
“How come I got a check and I didn’t give them any money?” she asked Hostin, who replied, “This was before, that was the old system.”

Behar quipped, “Oh, I was grandmothered in,” with a little roll of her eyes. After the audience’s laughter at Behar’s one-liner died down, Hostin finished off her commentary with a takedown of Musk.
“He changed the system, and he’s the one that then, in my view, ruined the company because now it’s not only a hellscape, it’s a hellscape of potential misinformation,” she said.
The View airs weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
