Sunny Hostin officially caught the ick from The Golden Bachelor star Gerry Turner. According to The View co-host, she thinks she needs “intense therapy” after his emotional rose ceremony on Thursday night’s (Oct. 5) episode made her feel “uncomfortable.”
As Joy Behar pointed out during this morning’s Hot Topics segment, emotions were running high on the second-ever episode of The Golden Bachelor while a tear-filled Turner — who gave his first rose to Leslie and last to Kathy — sent home Natascha, Jeanie and Peggy. While many viewers praised the wholesome moment, Hostin had a different opinion about the beloved Golden Bachelor and his tears.
“I really didn’t like it. I’m thinking I need intense therapy,” she said, before later adding, “It just made me so uncomfortable, all those tears.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin then jumped in to defend Turner, telling her co-host, “No! I love Gerry. He can cry anytime. I’m obsessed with him. He is so adorable.”
Meanwhile, Sara Haines — the unofficial panel therapist — speculated why the reality star may have had an emotional response to the rose ceremony.
“I think the tears come from a place of what this all symbolized — which is second chances,” she suggested. “Everyone had such beautiful stories that I think when he’s looking at them, it’s not The Bachelor at 23. This is someone that recognizes that everyone took a chance [and] they reached out of their comfort zones.”

Still, Hostin — who said she’s “not a crier” — slammed the moment as “corny.”
As for Ana Navarro, she was ready to talk about anything besides the hit dating series — and even called out The View’s executive producer Brian Teta for forcing her to weigh in on it.
“Can I tell you something? I’m gonna be the one crying if we keep talking about The Bachelor,” she fired off. “Brian Teta is gonna torture me about this every week. He said it’s the No. 1 show on Hulu. I want to be thrown on the other side of the wall.”
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
