Sunny Hostin condemned Republican lawmakers on The View Monday morning as she and her co-hosts reflected on the future of the Democratic and Republican parties under the Trump administration.

Hostin shockingly suggested Democrats should “get out of the Republicans’ way” as she noted that Americans across the country are being radicalized now that they’re “feeling” the effects of President Trump’s policies.

“What Democratic officials should be doing, I think they just need to get out of the Republicans’ way, because the Republicans are damaging this country. So much so, that I think Trump voters are realizing they were lied to,” Hostin said, pointing to recent protests.

“I really think now that people are feeling it they’re going to become much more involved,” she later said.

Sara Haines, however, recommended that the party rally around a central message and platform in order to win upcoming elections.

“I don’t think Democrats should just be obstructionists… I think Democrats need to get around a message and they can’t run in midterms and in federal elections on just, “We’re not Trump,'” she said.

The ladies recently got into a heated argument on the show over Democrats “infighting” after House Minority Leader Chuck Schumer backed a Republican spending bill, a move that drew criticism from Nancy Pelosi and other Dems.

Hostin said Schumer “should have been fighting for the people of America that are feeling the way that they are feeling,” adding that Americans tell her “every day” that they “don’t feel like the party is fighting for them.”

After Hostin went on to accuse Schumer of “caving” to the G.O.P., Haines defended Schumer’s controversial move.

“It would have been worse if he didn’t concede,” she said, adding that he “gave cover” to Democrats.

Hostin did not back down from her criticism of Schumer, however. “He gave coverage to the G.O.P. to do whatever they heck they wanted to do!” she fired back.
