Fans of small-town dramas, rejoice! Sullivan’s Crossing, a new series inspired by bestselling author Robyn Carr’s books, is coming to The CW. And fans of popular shows like Virgin River, Gilmore Girls, and Hart of Dixie will definitely want to check it out.
Adapted for TV by Roma Roth and executive produced by Roth and Christopher E. Perry — the team behind Virgin River — Sullivan’s Crossing follows Boston neurosurgeon Maggie Sullivan (Morgan Kohan) as she returns to her childhood home to reunite with her estranged father Sully (Scott Patterson). While navigating an unexpected turn of events, Maggie attempts to reconnect with her past and meets the handsome yet irksome Cal Jones (Chad Michael Murray) along the way.
If the series is giving Virgin River vibes, that’s because Carr is the author of both book series. Sullivan’s Crossing features several Virgin River actors, and it also notably reunites former CW and Gilmore Girls stars Chad Michael Murray and Scott Patterson. Huge news for Tristan Dugray and Luke Danes fans!
It’s worth noting that Sullivan’s Crossing isn’t a brand-new series. If you feel like you’ve been hearing about it for months, that’s because the show has been airing in Canada since March. But it’s officially headed to The CW soon, so here’s everything you need to know about the series, its premiere date, its cast, and more.
As noted, Sullivan’s Crossing premiered on CTV in Canada on March 19, 2023, and has been airing weekly on Sundays with the Season 1 finale set to premiere on May 21. If you have access to CTV, you can check out the series before it airs in the U.S.; if not, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to catch it on The CW and potential streaming platforms.
Though an exact premiere date has yet to be announced, a press release noted that we can expect Sullivan’s Crossing to make its U.S. debut on The CW in Fall, 2023.
