NextImg:Stream It or Skip It: 'Honestly Cavallari' on E!, where Kristin Cavallari invites cameras back into her life post-divorce

From Laguna Beach to Nashville, Kristin Cavallari has led quite the life. She made her name starring in the MTV reality series Laguna Beach as a teenager, before later joining its spinoff The Hills in the early aughts. She continued her reality TV fame in three seasons of Very Cavallari, which followed her life in Nashville with her then-husband Jay Cutler, from 2018 to 2020. Now divorced with a thriving podcast, Kristin is ready to invite cameras back into her lifeand we couldn’t be more excited about it.

Opening Shot: The opening of Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour gives viewers a look into Kristin’s life as a mom; she’s doing dishes, accusing her kids of stealing her phone charger, and complaining about their messy rooms. Relatable! Kristin also shares a bit about her life since her divorce from the retired NFL star, and how her Let’s Be Honest podcast has helped her control her own narrative after years of being portrayed a certain way in the media.

The Gist: Five years after the end of Very Cavallari, Kristin is inviting fans back into her life as she goes on tour for her highly successful Let’s Be Honest podcast. After decades of being in the headlines, Kristin is continuing to bare it all, giving an exclusive look into her life post-divorce and all the wild times she’s had since coming into the spotlight all those years ago — and she’s bringing a few surprise guests to help her reminisce along the way.

What Shows Will This Remind You Of?

Our Take: Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour isn’t your typical reality show. Yes, it does show snippets of her life as a mom. Yes, there are never-before-heard conversations and confessions that she hasn’t said on her tour or her podcast (I’m looking at you, Glen Powell). But what makes this show different than other reality shows is that we are fully following Kristin’s passion, which is her podcast. The focus is not drama and arguments, but rather a thrilling look into Kristin’s exciting life from her time as a young kid being brought up in Orange County, to a divorcée forging the next chapter in her life with a successful new career. Now, that doesn’t mean there’s no drama at all. Just look at what happened when Kristin brought out the Laguna Beach Season 2 cast and Taran Nolan drunkenly made a fool of himself on stage, casting uncomfortable jabs at Kristin’s current love life and their past high school relationship. Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour certainly has its tense moments, but from what I’ve seen in the first two episodes, the show has more of a light-hearted, fun vibe to it than your average reality series that might tend to highlight more bad moments than good.

Sex and Skin: There’s no sex and skin — just a lot of talking about it.

Sleeper Star: Kristin’s best friend Justin Anderson isn’t just her right-hand man and frequent podcast guest, but he’s also a good source of information. He tends to say the quiet things out loud — and he’s not afraid to spill some tea in front of the cameras.

Most Pilot-y Line: “I’m finally at a good place to be open with people and let people in … so why not film a reality show?” Kristin says in the opening scene. Fair enough!

Our Call: STREAM IT. The Queen is back on reality TV — and we can only hope she’s here to stay!

Next Gen NYC premieres Tuesday, June 3 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
