Stephen A. Smith sent a passionate PSA to “ladies” everywhere after seeing 81-year-old Martha Stewart grace the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s 2023 issue.
During the latest installment of his “Know Mercy” podcast, Smith doted on Stewart, and couldn’t help but compliment Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson’s wife, Ciara, as well as Kim Kardashian and Elon Musk’s 75-year-old mother, Maye.
“Martha Stewart, I see you,” Smith wrote on Twitter, including a clip of him gushing over the lifestyle expert.
“But the 81-year-old Martha Stewart is one of four swimsuit models gracing the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue — 81 years old. Now I know y’all are saying, what the hell is Stephen A talking about something like that for?
“Well, it’s a simple reason: Ladies, none of y’all are beyond your prime. All y’all got it going on. To each their own. Now everybody got their own different taste. I have mine. People have theirs.
“I said I have my taste for a reason. That would be one of them,” Smith said before batting his eyes at the camera while a photo of Ciara on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2022 was shown.
That’s when Smith, who gave two thumbs up to the camera with a large smile, addressed the singer’s husband, Wilson.
“I see why you smile a lot,” Smith said, adding, “She ain’t the only one though.”
The ESPN personality then applauded Kim Kardashian, who posed for the cover of SI Swimsuit’s 2022 issue.
“Yes, we all have our tastes,” Smith said with two thumbs up. “Lord have mercy. Bravo Kim.”
Smith also mentioned Musk’s mother, who was on the cover of SI Swimsuit in 2022.
“She’s 75 years old,” Smith said of Maye. “You go on momma, go on with your bad self.
“I’ve seen plenty of women in their fifties that look better than women in their twenties. I think it’s great that Martha Stewart and Mrs. Musk are gracing the same cover that Ciara and Kim Kardashian graced.
“There is no prime. Everybody got their taste.”
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit revealed its 2023 cover models this week, including Stewart, Megan Fox, Brooks Nader, and Kim Petras.
Stewart is the oldest cover model to pose for the iconic magazine’s swimsuit sector.
Stewart revealed her magazine cover during Monday’s episode of the “Today” show and said that she was approached for the shoot in November 2022 and posed for SI Swim this past January.
“To be on the cover at my age was a challenge. And I think I met the challenge,” she told hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
