Mason Rudolph isn’t fazed by the Aaron Rodgers-Steelers rumors. 

The veteran signal-caller is serving as the Steelers’ QB1 during OTAs despite it being assumed he’ll be the backup once the 2025 NFL season rolls around. 

“That’s nothing new to me. There’s been constant noise,” Rudolph said when asked about Rodgers. “That is the nature of the NFL. So I am used to that for a long time. Now I’m doing nothing but being the best I can be to help our team get better this spring.”

Rodgers has been flirting with going to Pittsburgh for months after a disappointing two-year tenure with the Jets.

In April, Rodgers said that people in his inner circle were dealing with “difficult stuff” on “The Pat McAfee Show,” leading to him holding off on a decision on his football future.

During a conversation on “The Joe Rogan Podcast” earlier this month, Rodgers revealed that someone near him is dealing with cancer.

No matter how the rest of the offseason plays out, Rudolph appears to be happy to return to the team that drafted him on a two-year, $7.5 million deal in March.

Rudolph spent the first six seasons of his career in Pittsburgh after being selected in the third round of the 2018 draft before signing with the Titans for the 2024 season.

“It’s great,” Rudolph said of signing with the Steelers. “I’ve been a part [of teams] where you jump on the moving train late in the spring, and then [others where] you’re here from the jump. So I’ve learned to adapt to both, but it’s obviously good to be wanted.”

If Rodgers opts to retire or Steelers brass runs out of patience for the future Hall of Famer, the franchise could look at acquiring Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins, who is on the team’s radar as a potential “Plan B,” according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
