After going down 2-0 in the first period, the Dallas Stars furiously peppered Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner with shots on goal en route to an impressive comeback victory 5-3 in Game 3.

We now go into Game 4, where the Oilers are again favored to beat the Stars, this time -135 on Caesars, despite the loss at home in Game 3.

It’s at least a little surprising to see the Oilers installed as -135 favorites at home, considering the Rangers are +100 underdogs in Game 5 at home.

There is plenty to be concerned about regarding the Oilers, though.

Their squad looks dangerous enough on offense, but they are allowing too many soft goals, falling squarely on the back of Skinner.

It sure seems like Skinner will have to play strong between the pipes if they want to have a chance to get back into this series and avoid a dreaded 3-1 deficit.

With their backs against the walls, the Oilers should be looking at getting Connor McDavid heavily involved throughout the evening as the most dangerous player on the ice for either team.

Dallas seemed to find a groove after having just three shots on goal in the first period.

They scored three goals in under four minutes to take the lead against Edmonton which they would never relinquish.

Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger, the current favorite to win the Conn Smythe (+370, DraftKings), played very well after a shaky start.

Betting-wise, tonight is a bit of an oxymoron.

Expect McDavid to impose his will early and often, but it’s impossible to trust Skinner as a favorite against the Stanley Cup favorite Stars.
