NextImg:St. John’s snags Khaman Maker in another big-time commitment for Rick Pitino

Rick Pitino is two for two.

Highly-regarded 7-footer Khaman Maker committed to St John’s on Monday, as first reported by The Post, joining four-star wing Jaiden Glover as players who took official visits last week and picked the Johnnies.

A four-star center, Maker chose St John’s over BYU, Arizona State, UNLV and others.

He’s a high level defender and rim protector with room to grow on the offensive end.

Last week, Glover committed to St. John’s, following in the footsteps of four-star, top-35 guard Simeon Wilcher, who signed three months ago.

Glover had taken an official visit to St. Joseph’s and had a final eight that included Seton Hall, Creighton, Illinois, Villanova, Providence and Ohio State.

The 6-foot-4 Wilcher, a consensus top-35 prospect, became the highest-rated high school recruit to pick St. John’s in a decade, since five-star guard Rysheed Jordan became a Johnnie.

Wilcher chose St. John’s over Seton Hall, Georgetown and Indiana.
