It’s another sad day in Charleston as Southern Charm star Taylor Ann Green‘s older brother, Richard Worthington Green — a.k.a Worth — has died. He was 36.
Taylor’s older sister, Catie King, confirmed the news of his passing in an Instagram post, though did not give specifics on the cause of his death.
“???? You are the best big brother I could have ever asked for,” she wrote. “This family will never be the same. I love you to the moon and back.”
While Taylor has yet to publicly address her brother’s passing, her ex-boyfriend and co-star Shep Rose commented on Catie’s post, “Absolutely one of a kind. A pleasure to know and to laugh with ✌️.”
An obituary reveals that Worth died June 8. In the obit, his family remembered him as a “beautiful example of how to live life as fully as possible” and described his personality as “vibrant, outgoing and loving.”
Worth — who was described as an “adventurer” in his obit — moved to South Korea after he graduated from East Carolina University in 2009 to teach English as a second language. Prior to his death, he had started a “small men’s group” in North Carolina to “reflect on life and challenge each other’s faith in Christ.”
Worth, who was the oldest of three siblings, was also very close with his family, his obit shared.
“Worth loved his family dearly,” it read. “Any excuse to be with them, he truly loved with his whole heart. He was a vivacious and loving son and grandson, and the best big brother to his sisters, always being there as a protector and a cheerleader.”
The sad news comes five months after another Southern Charm star Olivia Flowers unexpectedly lost her brother, Conner Flowers, who was only 32 at the time of his death.
“Conner was a remarkable young man, with the gift of compassion and love for others, earning him friends everywhere he went,” his family said in a statement shared with Decider. “His values were seeded in his faith and in his family. We know his absence will be felt by many for years to come.”
