NextImg:Sorry, Haters: Chrishell Stays Winning In ‘Selling Sunset’ Season 7

Another season of Selling Sunset, another person (or two, or three!) trying — and failing — to tear Chrishell Stause down.

Loyal fans of Netflix’s real estate reality series won’t be surprised that the bulk of Selling Sunset Season 7’s drama is centered around the 42-year-old actor and realtor who far too many people — for whatever reason — love to hate. Nor should they be surprised that after 11 episodes of petty drama, exhausting fights, and a ton of tears, Chrishell comes out on top. Again.

After Chrishell’s workplace nemesis Christine Quinn left The Oppenheim Group in 2022, OG realtor Nicole Young joined Selling Sunset‘s cast and took over the role of making Chrishell’s life hell. The two quickly reignited an old feud and Nicole pushed Chrishell until she snapped — by that, we mean she accused Nicole of being on drugs in an admittedly low blow. But rather than squash the beef and make amends, Nicole opted to get a full-panel drug test and threaten legal action against her colleague. (Sounds like a great time for some workplace HR intervention! If only!)

At the end of Season 6, the consensus at The O Group was that both women should let their feud go for the good of the business, their sanity, and the well-being of everyone at the office. But in the Season 7 premiere, Nicole doubles down and digs a deeper hole for herself, taking more shots at Chrishell and accusing her bestie Emma Hernan of being a “social climber” who only hangs out with her to improve her status. Yikes!

In Season 7, Nicole comes across as insufferable, mean-spirited, and stubborn as ever. (After the aforementioned premiere feud, her husband even gets involved, texting Amanza Smith, “Two words, Amanza: Fuck you.” Rude!) As the season progresses and Chrishell reflects on the kind of person she wants to be, she decides to take the high road and apologize to Nicole. Nicole’s response? Nada! She refuses to take accountability for her role in the toxicity. But this time around Nicole isn’t the only one coming for Chrishell. Marie-Lou Nurk, the 25-year-old model who was dating Chrishell’s ex-boyfriend/current boss Jason Oppenheim during filming, tries to stir the pot every chance she gets. But Chrishell snaps her spoon in half, shutting her down at every turn.

After Marie-Lou tells Jason that she doesn’t feel Chrishell is welcoming to her at events, Jason confronts his ex, bringing up the fact that she didn’t follow Marie-Lou on Instagram for several months. Chrishell admits that because of their age gap (Jason is 46 and Marie Lou is 25), she was hesitant to get too attached and takes full accountability for her lack of effort. But she also argues that she’s greeted Marie-Lou with open arms, a smile, and kind words every time she sees her, which a damning Selling Sunset supercut confirms.

Chrishell goes so far as to meet Marie-Lou for lunch to make amends, and when I tell you it couldn’t have gone worse for Marie-Lou — my jaw DROPPED, people. The brief sit down was a mortifying display of immaturity and desperation from the model, who actually called up her boyfriend halfway through the disagreement and lied to his face, claiming Chrishell didn’t want to be friends with her because she was “jealous.” Chrishell responded with the most iconic words a reality TV star can utter (“You know this is all on camera, right?”) before referencing receipts, correcting Marie-Lou for using she/her pronouns when talking about her partner G Flip (they/them), and leaving the conversation when Marie-Lou accused her and Jason of still having feelings for each other.

When the Oppenheim twins invite the agents on a Cabo vacation, Chrishell (and Emma, for moral support) decide to stay apart from the group in hopes of establishing healthier work/life boundaries. As she should! And wouldn’t you know it? Once Chrishell makes an active effort to remove herself from the drama, Nicole and Marie-Lou take issue with her quest for growth, self-improvement, and peacekeeping.

After hearing the two gossiping about her on the beach, Chrishell understandably decides to skip a team dinner entirely, which irks her close friend Amanza and inspires her to send a scathing video message calling Chrishell’s absence unacceptable. Chrishell — livid over the power move — responds with one of her own. In her one glaring failure of the season, she was quick to fire Amanza from designing G’s studio. Though she promises to compensate Amanza for all the work she’s done thus far, it’s still a crushing blow that crosses both personal and professional lines. Not cool!

In an Instagram Story ahead of Season 7’s premiere, Chrishell called out the forthcoming conflict, writing, “If you say I am mean to you, apparently you get a storyline on Selling Sunset. THREE people did it this season and you guys be the judge. Funny that I never once had an issue with any of these people when cameras weren’t around. Remember when I posted the four of us to lunch in Australia. All smiles, nice time? The next time I saw her was this lunch. ON camera. If she said I was nice to her, do you think she would have gotten a storyline & invited to the reunion…. NO.” Love her or hate her, she makes some serious points.

Despite the Amanza mess, Season 7 feels like a significant period of growth for Chrishell. She took time to prioritize her relationship with G Flip, ending the season with a secret wedding! She encountered a health scare and had a huge ovarian cyst removed, but emerged with a newfound sense of self and purpose. She looked inward, asking how she could make her parents proud. She repaired her friendship with Mary and stayed close to Heather on maternity leave. And in what felt like a first on this series, after taking the high road with Nicole and Marie-Lou (who, BTW is no longer dating Jason!), she not only called out The O Group’s toxic environment, but she made real efforts to break the cycle and separate her business and personal life.

Like the rest of us, Chrishell isn’t perfect. But Season 7 showed she’s aware of her flaws and actively working to better herself — something that can’t be said for everyone after this latest batch of episodes. If she continues to make things right with Amanza, distance herself from the troublemakers, prioritize her peace and friendships, stand her ground when needed, lead with grace, and keep killing her haters with kindness, she’ll stay winning in my book.

Selling Sunset Season 7 is now streaming on Netflix.
