Travis Kelce is enjoying life as an engaged man.
On Wednesday’s episode of “The New Heights” podcast, the star Chiefs tight end, 35, opened up about some subtle changes since he asked the “Fornight” singer, also 35, for her hand in marriage last week.
Brother Jason, who has been married to wife Kylie since 2018, asked if there was “something different” about Swift going from Travis’ girlfriend to fiancée.
“I felt that at the game actually, it was my first time ntroducing Taylor as my fiancee to a few of my teammates,” Travis said about him and Swift attending Cincinnati University’s loss to Nebraska last week at Arrowhead Stadium.
“Yeah, it was pretty cool. I still get giddy. Exciting times. Still fresh.”
Kelce and Swift announced their engagement Aug. 26 on Instagram, sharing a carousel of photos taken in a garden filled with pink and white flowers.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” the couple captioned the joint post, which was set to her 2024 track, “So High School,” that’s inspired by Kelce.
Kelce, who’s entering his 13th NFL season, proposed to Swift at his Leawood, Kansas, estate — the home he purchased in 2023 for more privacy amid the couple’s whirlwind romance, according to Page Six.
“You gotta know your gal or your significant other,” Travis said Wednesday when Jason asked if he had any advice. “And it’s gotta .. you can’t let how somebody else does it make you feel like you need to do it that way.”
In an interview with News 5 in Cleveland, his father, Ed, revealed the proposal took place nearly two weeks ago at the All-Pro tight end’s residence.
“Travis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago,” Ed said. “He was going to put it off till this week. I think she was getting maybe a little antsy, but he was going to put her off ’til this week, to, you know, make some grand thing, to make it a big special event. And I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event … when you get down on one knee and ask her to marry you.”
Ed said the couple FaceTimed their parents to share the news of their engagement.
“He got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, ‘Let’s go out and have a glass of wine.’ They got out there, and that’s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,” Ed said, adding that he was at an Eagles practice when he got the call that the two were engaged. “They started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.”
Ed said he knew the three-time Super Bowl champion would be proposing to Swift months prior, adding he previously thought Kelce would pop the question during last year’s NFL season.
The engagement reveal comes two weeks after Swift’s internet-breaking appearance on the “New Heights” podcast, which Kelce co-hosts with his older brother, Eagles legend Jason Kelce.
During the wide-ranging interview, Swift announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” will drop on Oct. 3.
Elsewhere on the podcast, the couple said they spent some time in Florida, where Kelce trained this offseason.
Swift also credited “New Heights” for getting her “a boyfriend” after Kelce publicly announced on the show that he tried to meet the singer at an Eras Tour show in 2023 and failed.
The Kelce-Swift craze has dominated sports and pop culture ever since.
The couple was first linked in September 2023 and went public with their relationship the next month.
