Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg announced seven indictments in what he called a “heinous” attack against NYPD officers at the hands of migrants in the middle of Times Square in January.
Five suspects who were arrested last week have been indicted with second degree assault among other charges, one was indicted with tampering with physical evidence, while the charges of two other remain sealed.
Appearing alongside Mayor Eric Adams, Bragg played video of the brazen assault and highlight each individuals part.
Four other individuals who were caught on camera kicking the officers, sometimes in the head, remain wanted.
“This assault, as it did to many of you, sickened me and outraged me,” Bragg said, calling the investigation undertaken by his office along with the NYPD “painstaking.”
