Netflix has decided to cancel its brand new reality TV series Snowflake Mountain after just one season.

According to Deadline, the streaming giant opted not to renew the series after it failed to attract as large of an audience as the platform’s other unscripted shows, such as Too Hot To Handle.

Snowflake Mountain centers on a group of somewhat pampered kidults who are in for a “rude awakening” after being sent on a wilderness survival retreat in Britain’s Lake District to try and learn some grit and grind.

The eight-episode series, which offered contestants a chance to win a $50,000 prize, premiered in June 2022. The contestants are guided by survivalists Matt Tate and Joel Graves.

Naked, which is owned by Fremantle, produced the show. Fremantle also owns Too Hot to Handle producers Talkback and Thames.

The series was announced in 2021 by Netflix UK unscripted commissioners Ben Kelly and Daisy Lilley as part of efforts to expand reality content. The goal of the show was to offer something “truly original.”
