A seedy upstate New York landlord was busted for trying to coax a prospective tenant into posing naked in exchange for a bump up on the list for a new apartment, state police said.
John Daly, 58, was charged with third-degree coercion after cops said he was trying to convince Keri Chew to get naked in exchange for a better shot at the new pad in his Washington County building, police said Tuesday.
“Daly advised me that there was a long ‘wait list’ of potential tenters to rent the apartment,” Chew said in a police statement reviewed by The Post Star.
“Daly then told me that if I wanted to be moved to the front of the list and move in today, he ‘expected’ me to get naked and allow him to take pictures of me,” she said.
State troopers were called to the Dresden, New York, building around 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 on reports of a dispute.
Daly was hit with the misdemeanor charge after police interviewed Chew at the scene and she told the troopers about the landlord’s sleazy offer, state police said in a press release.

He faces up to one year in jail if convicted.
According to the Post Star, Daly owns hundreds of properties in Washington and Warren counties.
