NextImg:Sky players irate as ‘edited’ video emerges of alleged Chennedy Carter harassment

Video has surfaced of the Chicago Sky’s incident outside their team hotel in Washington, D.C., in which members of the team allege a man harassed them.

The footage might not tell the whole story, however.

Angel Reese and other players on the Sky claimed as they tried to get off their team bus Wednesday night to go into their hotel that a man harassed them, used vulgar language and recorded them before team security de-escalated the situation.

“Finding out our teams hotel to pull with a camera as we get off the bus and put it in my teammates face & HARASS her is NASTY WORK [sic],” Reese posted on X. “This really is outta control and needs to STOP.”

In the video that surfaced of the incident, the man attempted to approach Chennedy Carter, who made waves earlier in the week for her hip-check of Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark.

“Ms. Carter, have you gotten a chance to reach out to Caitlin?” the man attempted to ask Carter before what appeared to be a member of team security got in between Carter and the individual while trying to block the camera.

Chennedy Carter hip-checked Caitlin Clark during the Sky-Fever game on June 1, sparking intense discourse.

The man repeats his question a few times before the video cuts out.

“The basketball world wants to know if you got the chance to reach out to her,” he said.

But players on the Sky claim the video was edited and fails to capture the man’s alleged harassment.

“Interesting how the video posted was edited and doesn’t include when he harassed our staff while calling us “ghetto b******” and saying “women’s sports isn’t s***” [sic],” Michaela Onyenwere posted on X. “We are not about to normalize things like that.”

Before video of the incident emerged, Isabelle Harrison claimed that they weren’t able to get off the team bus until security intervened.

But in the video, Carter is already off the bus and walking on the street when the man tried to approach her, contradicting that detail.

“WOW!!! Thank GOD for security,” Harrison posted on X. “My teammate being harassed at our hotel is insane! Couldn’t even step off the bus!!!”

Carter’s foul against Clark in Saturday’s game between the Sky and Fever was later upgraded to a flagrant 1.

It sparked intense discourse about Clark’s early days in the WNBA after entering as one of the most highly anticipated rookies in league history.
