Skip Bayless’ wife, Ernestine, is just as outspoken as her husband.
The former television personality has been posting his scorching hot takes on X these days and recently released a 10-minute video of him asking questions and getting responses from his spouse.
When asked about seeing music sensation Taylor Swift on NFL broadcasts due to her relationship with Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce, Ernestine unleashed her own take.
“This year I was really dreading the reemerging of Taylor Swift with Travis Kelce,” Bayless’ wife said when asked about the relationship that’s dominated storylines the last two seasons. “And then we go into the [Patrick] Mahomes thing with the wife [Brittany], and it’s like, this is bigger than football. Now the focus is really on them as opposed to football. Why does this keep going?”
Skip was also providing commentary as his wife spoke and added that Swift is so much larger than life that she has to be the center of attention at games.
“It’s because she is she. She is it,” Bayless said, while adding that Swift’s appearance on the “New Heights” podcast broke the podcast viewership record.
“I think it’s been shrewd on her part to couple with him because it’s a great look for her to be with the tough big football player. It’s a good fit.”
“Now she’s going to be there at every game… It was bad enough that I had to deal with football coming, but now I have to deal with part two, this part. I can take the other stuff; this I can’t take. I’m sorry,” Ernestine added while sarcastically saying she’s a football maven.
Swift was shown throughout various NFL broadcasts throughout the past two seasons, though less so year when she was on her “Eras” Tour. It has drawn the ire of football fans who were frustrated seeing her reaction to moments in the game rather the athletes themselves.
Offshore Sportsbooks even began offering betting on the total times Swift would be shown on broadcasts during games.
The Chiefs begin their regular season on Friday, Sept. 6, against division rival Chargers in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
