Amazon is the hotspot of all things retail. Need outdoor patio furniture? The retailer has top products on deck (pun intended). Or, how about wrinkle creams? Surely, you can find some good ones.
Now, Curology has entered the market on Amazon. The brand is revered for its over-the-counter and personalized skincare formulas that deliver an effective regimen at your fingertips — now, even more so (thanks, Prime!)
“Curology was founded in 2014 with the mission of making effective skincare more accessible,” Heather Wallace, CEO of Curology — who served as the President of the Americas for Revlon, leading over $1B in sales across luxury, mass and professional beauty — exclusively told the New York Post. “Since then, Curology has grown its team of in-house licensed dermatology providers who have provided personalized prescription skincare to more than 5 million patients.”
The best part? Each patient is prescribed a personalized formula designed to help them reach their specific skin goals, whether they’re dealing with acne, dark spots, rosacea or early signs of aging.
As of Jan. 12, Curology can now be purchased directly from Amazon. Now, it’s even more accessible.
Whether you’re looking for its Acne Cleanser ($14) or fast-healing Emergency Spot Patch ($10), you’ll surely be able to pick up what you need in a jiffy.
“Curology’s Custom Formula Rx, which treats acne and acne-related concerns, is our most popular item,” Wallace tips off. “For non-Rx products, our cleanser, gel moisturizer, and emergency spot patches are our top sellers.”
“Expanding to distribute our products with the No. 1 facial skincare retailer is critical to growing Curology’s household penetration,” Wallace told The Post. “Amazon is highly incremental: many consumers only shop facial care on Amazon — meaning we are missing out on reaching these consumers with a DTC-only offering.”
Not to mention, Curology’s dermatologist-formulated non-Rx products serve as an incredible introduction to the Curology brand for those who aren’t yet familiar. “This opens the door for us to communicate the benefits of trading up to one of our personalized prescription formulas,” she adds.
Curology has a dedicated team of licensed dermatology providers who thoroughly assess and diagnose skin conditions, taking into consideration individual skin concerns and preferences. “We believe in a collaborative approach to healthcare, where providers work together with patients to help them achieve their skin goals,” Wallace explains.
The brand’s licensed dermatology providers establish authentic connections with our consumers, nurturing a sense of trust that underscores our commitment to helping them achieve confidence that goes deeper than skin. “Additionally, we only treat skin conditions that can be accurately diagnosed and easily treated through telemedicine, such as acne and rosacea,” she says.
Interestingly, Curology was the first personalized prescription skincare company in the beauty industry, where over 95% of skincare is still non-personalized. “It combines the best of beauty, science, and technology to make better skincare outcomes attainable for millions of people.”
Curology’s products also tackle skin challenges by combining multiple prescription ingredients into one powerful personalized formula offering even stronger results. “Our formulas are patented and 95% of the products we ship are our proprietary patented formulas,” Wallace says. “Our custom Rx acne treatments are 3x as effective as traditional OTC treatments.”
“Our special model connects consumers virtually with licensed dermatology providers who customize individual treatment plans,” Wallace says. “We do not use bots or algorithms, and have an in-house medical team of 100+ experts.”
First, you take a short quiz and share pictures of your skin. From there, you’re paired with a Curology dermatology provider who reviews your profile, evaluates your skin and prescribes you a custom formula with ingredients specific to your skin concerns.
“When you’re a Curology patient, you have direct access to your dermatology provider through our patient portal, where you can ask questions and share changes to your skin,” Wallace highlights.
Curology’s products can serve a broad range of consumers and skin concerns from acne to rosacea to early signs of aging. However, be sure to consult your dermatologist with any personal concerns, if any.
“When we first entered the market, our portfolio was focused on a range of custom formulas for the treatment of acne,” Wallace shares. “Since launch, we have continued to focus on innovation, expanding our formulas to incorporate the latest scientific data on beneficial ingredients and to serve a broader range of skin indications.”
This includes the launch of a second brand, Agency, to specifically treat age-related skin concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, dark spots and texture. This year, Agency has seen exponential growth – tripling subscribers year-over-year, per Wallace.
“Our prescription lineup now includes Curology Custom FormulaRx to clear acne, Curology Future ProofRx to prevent early signs of aging, Agency Future Formula to reduce signs of aging like fine lines & wrinkles and Agency Dark Spot Formula to fade hyperpigmentation,” she lists. “We also offer a full range of products beyond just our multi-Rx treatments that are formulated by our dermatologists and support our patients’ broader facial skincare regimens.”
Curology recently expanded its offerings into hair with Hair Formula Rx, a prescription daily topical treatment focused on addressing hair loss in both men and women. “Like Curology’s Custom Formula and Future Proof Rx, Hair Formula Rx, combines three ingredients in one powerful formula personalized to address your specific hair loss needs,” she says.
