Sister Wives star Christine Brown has spoken out following the sudden death of her former stepson Garrison Brown, who died earlier this week from an apparent suicide.

Christine shared a video on Instagram of Garrison and her 13-year-old daughter Truely, who she shares with Garrison’s father, Kody Brown.

“Garrison was a wonderful, caring brother who understood Truely’s need for a hobby and built her a flowerbed,” she wrote. “We’ll miss him forever.”

Her post included the hashtag “#tellthoseyoulovethatyoulovethem.”

Christine was the first of Kody’s four wives to end their “spiritual union” in November 2021. Janelle Brown later announced in December 2022 that she and Kody also separated, followed by Meri Brown. Their polygamist family of 23 was the subject of the TLC docuseries, which recently chronicled the implosion of Kody’s marriages.

Garrison was the son of Kody and Janelle Brown. He was reportedly found dead by his younger brother at a house in Arizona, after which law enforcement confirmed that his death was the “result of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

Janelle announced the news with an emotional post on social media Wednesday (March 6).

“Kody and I are deeply saddened to announce the loss of our beautiful boy Robert Garrison Brown,” she wrote. “He was a bright spot in the lives of all who knew him. His loss will leave such a big hole in our lives that it takes our breath away. We ask that you please respect our privacy and join us in honoring his memory.”

Garrison’s younger brother, Gabriel, was the one to find him after he passed away. Gabriel told TMZ that he “didn’t realize something was amiss” with Garrison, as he “seemed to be doing okay on his own” after taking a new job at a medical facility.

TMZ reported that Garrison had recently been struggling with alcohol, according to his roommates.

The family had also appeared to be going through a difficult time prior to Garrison’s passing. During an episode of Sister Wives, Janelle shared that Garrison seemed “angry or sadder, like, he’s not as happy-go-lucky as he used to be,” per People.

In another episode, Kody confessed he hadn’t been in touch with his son in “quite a while.” At the time of his passing, Janelle told police that Garrison was “estranged” from his father by that point.
